Why ‘Milonda’?

Milonda is a blend word, encompassing the Chichewa (Malawian) word for trade, Molinda, and Milonga (Spanish), a term for a place or an event where the Tango is danced.

We have created this name for our company because, like in traditional Malawian markets, we want the world to return to simpler, person-to-person transactions based on trust and secure identities.

We like the Milonga because we believe that trading to local communities must be a carefully choreographed dance, showcasing the best of seller and buyer.

What Milonda isn’t

Milonda doesn’t want to blind you with buzz words.

We know small businesses don’t necessarily have the time to experiment with speculative marketing avenues, and don’t want to just create “impressions” and “clicks”.
